Overview

PP Keder uses a polypropylene-focused material approach for the rail edge of a flexible fabric product. It can be considered where the main panel or reinforcement is PP-based and the product team wants to reduce unrelated material families or evaluate a compatible recycling route.

The finished assembly may still contain multiple materials. The exact core, flap fabric, bonding layer, thread and accessories must be defined before any recyclability or performance statement is made.

Material and Process Development

Send the material data for the main fabric, coating, reinforcement and joining process. Kedermaker can review the keder profile, flap construction and sampling requirements around the actual rail and fabrication equipment.
PP materials can vary in stiffness, melt behaviour and surface characteristics. Do not transfer process settings from PVC or another PP grade without controlled trials.


Quality and Compatibility

Inspection can cover material identity, finished dimensions, flap geometry, appearance, bonding or seam consistency, roll presentation and rail fit. Any mechanical or weathering requirement needs an agreed test method and acceptance limit.
