Full-Bond Keder Technology

Kedermaker uses hot wedge / HF welding and full perimeter bonding to create reliable keder products for
tents, awnings, marine canvas, tarpaulins and industrial fabric applications.

What Is Full-Bond Keder?

Full-bond keder is manufactured by wrapping coated fabric around the core and bonding it around the full perimeter. This creates a more consistent connection between the fabric wrap and the core compared with traditional line-sealed keder.
For demanding applications such as tents, awnings, marine canvas, tarpaulins and industrial fabric systems, full-bond construction helps support reliable performance during rail pulling, installation, removal and outdoor use.

  • Full perimeter bonding
  • Consistent fabric-to-core connection
  • Suitable for repeated installation
  • Designed for outdoor fabric applications
  • Custom profiles and materials available

Full-Bond Keder vs Line-Sealed Keder

The bonding method affects how consistently the coated fabric connects with the core. Full-bond keder is designed to provide a larger and more reliable bonding area than traditional line-sealed construction.

Full-Bond Keder

Bonding area: Around the core perimeter
Strength consistency: More consistent fabric-to-core connection
Best for: Tents, awnings, marine canvas, tarpaulins and repeated installation
Applications: Demanding outdoor and industrial fabric systems

Line-Sealed Keder

Bonding area: Limited sealing line
Strength consistency: More dependent on line seal quality
Best for: Basic or lower-demand applications
Applications: Depends on material, supplier and project requirements

Manufacturing Process

Our keder is made using a virgin resin PVC core, PVC coated fabric and hot wedge / HF welding process. The process helps fuse the coated fabric around the core to support consistent shape, bonding and performance.

1. Material Selection

Kedermaker selects core material, coated fabric, color and performance requirements based on the final application. PVC, PP, PE and TPO material options are available for different project needs.

2. Wrapping & Positioning

The coated fabric is wrapped around the core according to the required keder profile, diameter and flap width. Accurate positioning helps create a consistent shape and rail fit.

3. Hot Wedge / HF Welding

The fabric and core are bonded using hot wedge / HF welding knowledge to create a full-bond keder construction with a consistent fabric-to-core connection.

4. Cutting, Rolling & Packaging

Finished keder can be supplied in custom roll lengths and packed in cartons, pallets or OEM packaging based on customer and shipping requirements.

Why Bonding Consistency Matters

Keder often works under tension. It may be pulled through rails, exposed to outdoor weather, rolled for transport and installed repeatedly. A consistent bond between the coated fabric and the core helps reduce the risk of separation and supports better long-term performance.
This is especially important for tents, marquees, awnings, marine canvas, tarpaulins and industrial fabric systems where fabric edges must remain reliable under real working conditions.

Rail pulling and installation
Outdoor weather and UV exposure
Repeated rolling, transport and reuse

Suitable Applications

Full-bond keder technology is suitable for applications where coated fabrics, textile edges and rail systems need a reliable connection.

Tent and marquee structures

Full-bond keder helps connect vinyl tops and sidewalls to structural rails in temporary and permanent fabric structures.

Awning and canopy systems

Keder helps secure outdoor shade fabric to support structures while maintaining a clean and reliable edge.

Marine canvas and boat curtains

Marine keder supports boat curtains, covers and sail-related fabric systems that face movement and weather exposure.

Tarpaulins and industrial covers

Heavy-duty fabric systems can use keder edge solutions for covers, storage protection and industrial applications.

Banner and signage systems
Tensile fabric and membrane structures
Custom industrial fabric systems

Custom Technology Support

Different projects require different profiles, materials and bonding requirements. Kedermaker can manufacture custom keder based on rail dimensions, fabric type, application environment, diameter, flap width, color and roll length.

  • Rail size or track drawing
  • Existing keder sample or photo
  • Fabric type and thickness
  • Required diameter and flap width
  • Application environment
  • Estimated quantity
  • Packaging and shipping requirements

Quality and Production Capability

Kedermaker focuses on consistent keder shape, bonding quality, material selection and packaging reliability. Our manufacturing operations in Haining, China support standard and custom production for OEMs, distributors, fabricators and project contractors worldwide.
Do not use unsupported claims such as "the world's largest" or exact machine/staff numbers unless the company has confirmed the data and can support it.
