Repair Keder for Damaged Tent and Marquee Panel Edges
A replacement keder format developed to help repair compatible clearspan tent, marquee and fabric panels without requiring RF welding during repair installation.
Repair Keder incorporates the supported construction previously marketed as Renew Keder. It combines a replacement keder profile with a pre-attached white opaque PVC repair strip that can be welded to a compatible panel after the damaged edge has been removed.
For the supported configuration, the repair team can install the replacement edge using suitable hot-air, hot-wedge or floor-welding equipment without RF welding at the repair stage. This does not mean RF welding is never used during product manufacture.
Compatibility must be checked before repair. Original keder size, rail dimensions, panel fabric, coating condition, remaining sound material and available equipment all affect the result.

Repair Process
1. Inspect and Measure
Confirm the rail, original keder diameter, panel fabric and extent of damage. Mark the sound material that will remain after trimming.
2. Remove the Damaged Edge
Cut away the failed keder and damaged material using the repair procedure approved for the panel.
3. Position the Repair Keder
Align the replacement profile so the new keder follows the original edge and the repair strip lies consistently on sound coated fabric.
4. Validate and Weld the Strip
Use test pieces to set temperature, speed and pressure for the available equipment. Weld only after the repair team confirms material compatibility and a sound test seam.
5. Inspect and Trial Fit
Check alignment, weld continuity and finished dimensions, then trial-fit the repaired edge in the actual rail before returning the panel to service.
Applications
Repair Keder can be considered for compatible tent roofs, marquee panels, sidewalls and event-structure fabrics with damaged keder edges. It may also suit other coated-fabric panels after a documented compatibility review.
Quality and Installation Control
Repair quality depends on preparation, remaining fabric condition, alignment and process settings. The repair team is responsible for establishing a safe procedure, testing the seam and confirming the repaired panel is suitable for its intended service.
