Overview

Single flap keder combines a wrapped PVC core with one fabric attachment flap. It is commonly selected where the panel is joined from one side, where a second flap is unnecessary or where the product design benefits from a simpler finished edge.

Applications

Typical applications include awning and canopy edges, banners and building graphics, tent and marquee panels, marine and protective covers, sliding curtains and custom industrial textile products.
Single flap keder is often appropriate when the finished panel lies to one side of the rail. If the product needs attachment or reinforcement on both sides, compare Double Flap Keder.

Custom Profile and Fit Review

Send the rail opening, internal channel dimensions, target core diameter, flap width and finished fabric stack. Include the intended weld or stitch line and the direction in which the panel will be installed.
For replacement products, provide the existing keder and a short rail section. For new designs, a prototype and actual-rail trial are recommended before approving production quantities.

Quality and Manufacturing

Inspection can cover core and finished dimensions, flap width, fabric appearance, bonding consistency, colour, roll presentation and sample fit. Required tolerances and test methods should be agreed in the approved specification.
