Overview

Velcro Keder is a common market description for keder combined with a hook-and-loop fastening component. The format can help a fabricator create removable panels, service openings, closure flaps or replaceable sections while retaining a keder edge for the rail connection.

This is a custom assembly rather than one universal profile. The keder diameter, flap construction, hook-and-loop type, width, side, orientation and attachment method must be defined around the customer's finished product.

VELCRO is a registered brand name. Kedermaker will confirm the available hook-and-loop brand or specification during quotation and will not assume a branded component unless it is expressly approved.

Applications

Hook-and-loop fastening is not a substitute for structural restraint unless the complete product has been designed and validated for that function. State the expected opening frequency, direction of pull and service environment so the assembly can be reviewed appropriately.

Custom Configuration

Provide a drawing showing the rail, keder, main panel, removable panel and fastening line. Specify whether Kedermaker is to supply the hook side, loop side or both, and identify any preferred brand, width, colour or cycle requirement.
The fastening component and attachment method must be compatible with the coated fabric and production equipment. A functional sample should be evaluated for alignment, peel direction, closure engagement and repeated use.

Is Velcro Keder one standard product?
No. It is a custom keder assembly using a specified hook-and-loop component. The correct format depends on the rail, fabric panel and fastening function.
Does every product use the VELCRO brand?
Not necessarily. VELCRO is a registered brand. The supplied brand or technical specification must be confirmed during quotation.
Can you supply the hook side, loop side or both?
The required side or complete mating system can be reviewed. Clearly mark the orientation on the panel drawing.
